Source of funds is documentation. It is not a slogan.

Source of funds is documentation. It is not a slogan. USCIS wants a lawful paper trail — whether the money was lawfully obtained and how it moved from origin to investment. A balance is not a chain.

USCIS Policy Manual Volume 6, Part G, Chapter 2 is the agency’s published standard for lawful source and path of funds. Counsel who knows the facts builds the package from that standard. Do not invent a one-size document list.

What the paper trail is for

Salary, property sale, gift, and loan can work if documented. Large cash deposits without a documented origin are a problem. RFEs are missing steps, not automatic denials. Denials are more often at I-526E than I-829. Project approval is not source-of-funds approval. Approval of a project’s I-956F is not a green card, not source-of-funds clearance, and not a statement about capital safety.

Haynesville

Veras advises on Haynesville (North Louisiana, I-956F approved). Families still have to document the capital. Energy is the asset. The purpose is EB-5.
